Urinary incontinence affects many women, yet it’s often misunderstood and under-discussed. Join Sarah Percy, Women’s Health Physiotherapist and Founder of Female Physio Co., for an informative webinar that explains why bladder leakage occurs and what can be done to manage it effectively.

Sarah will cover the simple anatomy and physiology behind stress and urge incontinence, the essential role of the pelvic floor, and why certain life stages – including pregnancy, post-pregnancy, and perimenopause – can increase risk due to hormonal and physical changes. She will also discuss other contributing factors such as constipation, heavy lifting, and respiratory conditions, along with signs that indicate when to seek professional support and what an assessment may involve.

The session will explore evidence-based treatment options, including pelvic floor muscle training, behavioural strategies, fluid management, vaginal pessaries, low-dose oestrogen, and continence products that support comfort and confidence.

The webinar will conclude with a live Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions in a supportive, educational environment.

About Sarah

Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Sarah completed her Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) and Bachelor of Exercise Science (BExSc) at Bond University. Sarah is deeply committed to empowering women through education, believing that informed patients are better equipped to make confident, individualised decisions about their health.

Sarah’s passion for pelvic health developed while working on the Maternity and Gynaecology wards at Pindara Private Hospital, where she recognised the significant gap in education surrounding the pelvic floor. This experience shaped her commitment to ensuring women feel supported, informed, and confident in their bodies.

Since then, Sarah has completed extensive postgraduate training in urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pessary fitting, advanced anorectal dysfunction, overactive bladder, genito-pelvic pain/penetration disorder (including provoked vulvodynia and vaginismus), endometriosis, pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, and postnatal rehabilitation for diastasis rectus abdominis.

As a mum to two young girls, Sarah is especially driven to create a future where women grow up with a better understanding of their bodies, their pelvic health, and their options for care.
